Solution to the Global Financial Crisis

It is August in a small town on the South Coast of France. Holiday season is in full swing, but it is raining so there is not too much business happening.

Everyone is heavily in debt.

Luckily, a rich Russian tourist arrives in the foyer of the small local hotel.

He asks for a room and puts a Euro100 note on the reception counter, takes a key and goes to inspect the room located up the stairs on the third floor.

The hotel owner takes the banknote in a hurry and rushes to his meat supplier to whom he owes E100.

The butcher takes the money and races to his supplier to pay his debt…

The wholesaler rushes to the farmer to pay E100 for pigs he purchased some time ago.

The farmer triumphantly gives the E100 note to a local prostitute who gave him her services on credit.

The prostitute goes quickly to the hotel, as she was owing the hotel owner for her hourly room use to entertain clients. She places the E100 note on the counter.

At that moment, the rich Russian is coming down to reception and informs the hotel owner that the proposed room is unsatisfactory and takes his E100 back and departs.

There was no profit or income.

But everyone no longer has any debt and the small town’s people look optimistically towards their future.

COULD THIS BE THE SOLUTION TO THE Global Financial Crisis….?

How to fix the US Economy!

There was an article in the St. Petersburg Times newspaper on 8th Feb.
The Business Section asked readers for ideas on “How Would You Fix the Economy?”
Here’s what David Otterson from Largo wrote back:
“There are about 40 million people over the age of 50 in the work force.
Pay each of them $1 million as severance with the following stipulations:

1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed.”

All this and it’s still cheaper than the “bailout”

Sanjay Dutt – Acting or Politics

Was just listening Sanjay Dutt on Aaj Tak the hindi channel when the journalist asked him, which he finds better, Acting or Politics. Sanju baba promptly replied, “both are the same”. We understand baba, that in both the professions you need to act! However Dutt saab made a quick recovery by saying that in both cases, they have to work in the heat for long hours apart from other things!

Sardar Pav Bhaji & Kumar Mangalam Birla

I have just started reading Vir Sanghvi’s Men of Steel and came across the interview of Kumar Managalam Birla. I was quite amazed to know that in his younger days Kumar Mangalam Birla used to have pav bhaji at Sardar’s. Sardar seems to be popular even then as it is now. For people coming to Mumbai and trying or retrying pav bhaji (and those who love butter) this place is a must. You can forget counting your calories here…each pav bhaji comes with at least 50 grams of butter…but it is finger licking good!!

If you want to try making pav bhaji on your own…try one of the cookery shows on You Tube.
